How the Summit platform applies South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information framework.

POPIA and the Summit platform

POPIA promotes the protection of personal information processed by public and private bodies and establishes conditions for lawful processing. The Summit platform is designed to support those principles through purpose-limited registration, access controls, auditability, security measures and transparent privacy information.

AccountabilityProcessing responsibilities and administrative access should be controlled and auditable.

Processing limitationCollect information needed for registration, attendance, accreditation, communications and Summit operations.

Purpose specificationUse information for identified Summit and legitimate government-event purposes rather than unrelated uses.

Further processingAny further use should remain compatible with the purpose for which the information was collected or otherwise be lawfully justified.

Information qualityDelegates can request correction of inaccurate or outdated personal information.

OpennessThis Privacy Notice explains what the platform collects and how it is used.

Security safeguardsRole controls, logs, encrypted QR access passes and controlled administrative workflows support confidentiality and integrity.

Data-subject participationIndividuals may exercise applicable rights of access, correction, objection and complaint.

Your privacy acknowledgement

The registration form requires you to acknowledge the Privacy Notice so that you understand the processing involved in operating the Summit. Optional delegate networking is handled separately as an opt-in preference.
